About Us
The Rotary Club of Wolfville Mud Creek formed in Feb 2010 receiving its Rotary International charter in April 2020. The name Mud Creek was chosen to associate the club with the rich history of Wolfville that was known as Mud Creek in the early 1800’s.
The first meetings were held at the then Front Street Cafe in Wolfville but has met in recent years at Tattingstone Inn, Stems Cafe, L’Arche and the Wolfville Lions Hall returning to the Evangeline Cafe in the spring.
Mud Creek Rotary is a member of the Rotary global network of 1.4 million neighbours, friends, leaders and problem solvers who see a world where people unite and take action to create lasting change, across the globe, in our communities and in ourselves. For more than 110 years Rotary members have worked through over 46000 clubs world wide to see a world where people unite and take action to create lasting change-across the globe, in our communities and in ourselves. Rotary values diversity and celebrates the contributions of people of all backgrounds, regardless of their age, ethnicity, race, colour, abilities, religion, socioeconomic status, culture, sex, sexual orientation and gender identity.
The main fund raiser of the club is the 50/50 Mud Creek Toonie Toss Since its inception in 2013 the Club has been fortunate to put back over 3 million dollars into the community. The incredible community support has allowed us to make contributions to such valuable community organizations as local food banks, community centres, playgrounds, Big Brothers/Big Sisters, Guide and Scout camps to name a few. We have been pleased to make significant donations toward the capital campaigns of L’Arche Canada and Landmark East in Wolfville, the Flower Cart in New Minas and Chrysalis House in Kentville.
In 2021 we introduced the Charity of Choice program. Each week the winner of the 50/50 draw chooses a Charity from a list of 22 charities from around the area. That charity will receive a donation in the amount of 10% of the following week’s win.
